Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

This weekend was super laid back!   

Friday night we took in some fireworks! 

From the comfort of our car in clothes so comfy they could

classify as pajamas! Total perfection!  

 Saturday we ran errands and hung out with 

Mama Gaither while Daddy Gaither was out of town.  

Saturday night, we ordered takeout!  YES!  

Sunday, Sweet Mama cooked dinner for the family and we wrapped the

 weekend with chores around the house! AND that was IT! 

Some might say, boring! I say ah…finally relaxation!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Finally!  We had a somewhat calm weekend and kept close to the house!!
We kicked things off Saturday morning with Carley Grace’s very first dance recital!
I was one proud Aunt Tiff!  She did amazing!  I wish I had a shot of “CG” and my beautiful best friend Rebecca and her husband Greg and their little twinkle toes, but those are on the other camera and haven’t been downloaded just yet! Here are a few shots of CG and sweet lil’ sister Raylee (posing with her special flowers she received too)! 

After the show was over- We raced home to get started on house work!  Scott and his friend Josh cut down lots of low hanging tree branches while I conquered laundry, a consignment store planter pot, and our mailbox!  Give this girl a roll of blue tape and a can of spray paint and 

I’ll take on the world!

 

 

 Last weekend I picked up this $4 planter to repot my basil 

plant that has out grown it's current pot.  I love the way it turned out and it

matches our Thrill, Fill, Spill pots!  

Now you know it wouldn’t be a weekend at The Gaither’s unless we went out for a cruise!  

 Saturday night we went to my favorite restaurant since childhood, Skids!  It is absolutely the most appropriate place to take the truck!  Too much fun! 

Sunday we took in a few open houses!

How gorgeous is this home?!  It's just down from my in laws and I swoon over it 

every time we pass so I was so excited to finally take a look inside!

  

And, yall that was IT for us this weekend! 

Sunday night was spent curled up on the couch watching Life of Crime.

What a quirky little movie!

I went total country on y’all this week with the exception of song #5. My brother and I lost our minds for a second and decided to DRIVE all the way from NC to NYC last weekend instead of flying like usual. It was such a long drive but, thank goodness we are two complete goofballs when we are together and know how to entertain. The Fox by Ylvis came on the radio and totally had us dancing like two crazy people! It was hilarious so I had share. The song is NOT that great but, it does kinda send ya to loony town for a hot minute!

Woo Hoo! It's FINALLY the weekend!

I feel like I have put in at least 2 weeks’ worth of work this week.

This chick is ready to kick her heels up and have one carefree kind of weekend.  Staring with a little girls night tonight, soaking up sunrays poolside Saturday (Sorry rain and clouds, you're not on the guest list), and tomorrow night going to see Mr. Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line in concert!!! I absolutely adore LB so I'm super stoked!

Once again I can't seem to limit myself to just 5 downloads so this week turn the volume on up and enjoy 10 great downloads!

Jay-Z released his new album with of course a great track featuring Mr. Timberlake. Every time I hear it, I like just a little bit more, BUT, make sure to also check out "Tom Ford" also on the record.

Song #8 you have probably heard but, thought I would include for any of you who haven't. I personally like to sing this one with the volume extra loud to drown out my horrific singing skills.

Fitz and The Tanturms {The Walker} I'd have to say is my 2nd fave off the album just behind {Fools Gold}.

The Oh Hello's {Hello my old heart} and {Sweater Weather} by The Neighbourhood both make the body sway and are a nice little sing-a-long for summer.

{Brave} by Sara Bareilles...we can all use a little positive uplifting tune every now and then.

Bonus song #6 has been out for over a year but, I swear it wasn't until recently that I have actually heard {Home} by Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeros finally getting some airplay.

I could play this song everyday without it getting old!

It has been another crazy week with taking care of the pup {who might I add had a great checkup this morning...#happydance} and snoozefest adult type stuff like dentist appointment, car inspection, insurance policy adjustments (apparently I think I'm a nascar driver every time I get behind the wheel).
The one thing that keeps me somewhat sane during all the madness is my afternoon runs.
I use to despise running- seriously unless I was being chased, it just was not going to happen.
But, for the last 3 years or so I have become slightly obsessed!!
Since, I am behind on everything, I thought today I would share my fave songs that help me get my run on.  Hopefully, by next week I will be caught up with life and can share some new releases with ya!

Happy Gatsby Day!!

I have been patiently waiting for The Great Gatsby movie remake to hit the big screen since the first release date of Christmas Day! The day is here and I have decided, being the amazing daughter that I am, to wait just two more days (feeling like an eternity) until Mother’s Day to watch with my sweet Mama!!
For all those going to see tonight, I envy you. For those of you like me who are waiting another few days, I have two songs from the amazing soundtrack included in this week’s Top 5 Downloads!

Two other songs I have to make mention of are by twin Canadian sisters Tegan and Sara Quin. “Closer” and “I was a fool” are just two of their songs off their latest album Heartthrob and let me just say, picking only two tracks was next to impossible when I absolutely adore all of them.
The last six songs I’ve kept in rotation since last week. A few to make you dance, a couple to turn your “swag” on to, and one you and your girlfriends can sing to the top of your lungs, flexing the golden pipes!

I'm super excited to have tix in hand to go see the Lumineers in June with one of my fave girlfriends.

The Cold War Kids are opening for the Lumineers and to be honest I'm not sure I even know one of their songs.  So this week I decided to check them out and as luck would have it they actually just released a new album the first of this month and I totally am diggin'!  "Miracle Mile" and "Jailbirds" are my two faves.  Phoenix, as you know I have recently developed a new found obsession for, dropped their album Bankrupt this week.  Their first single, "Entertainment" is still my top pick but, I'm loving "Don't" as well!

Will.i.Am's new album #willpower launched last Friday and last week I shared his collabo with the Biebs but, I have to say his track with Miley Cyrus has my body swaying too!!

The last download this week comes from The Dirty Heads.  A total sweetie told me about this group just this week and I have to say every time I hear one of their songs I just wish I was somewhere with a cold tropical concoction in my hand, big sunnies on, and water all around!

Did anyone catch SNL last Saturday with the forever hilarious Melissa Mccarthy hosting?
That woman seriously cracks me up!!  Phoenix, a French alternative rock band from Versailles, was the musical group to perform.  Have you ever heard of these guys?  They are new to me but, I instantly became a fan.  "Entertainment" (I've had stuck on repeat) is their first single off their new album Bankrupt, set to release April 23.
Song number two, "Run" by Kill it Kid (another new group to me) caught my attention on a commercial (I don't even recall the advertisement) but, immediately pulled out the iPhone to shazam the tune. 
We all know Kelly Clarkson, her new song "Don't Rush" I love for the pure fact it's bee-boppy and it reminds me of old school 80's country/blues, like K.T Oslen and Bonnie Raitt. 
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis had me with Thrift Shop and no surprise I 'm totally diggin' their second release "Can't Hold Us".  It makes me dance...so it's a win!
Carly Rae, "Tonight I'm Getting Over You"...Just makes me wanna have a girls night on the town with again LOTS of dancing!
A bonus track from non other than my childhood heartthrobs... New Kids On The Block!!
"We Own The Night" is the first track on their newest album "10".
AND...my sweet mama's personal fave off their lastest album (who knew she was such a fan) "Remix".
