What's In a Name...

When deciding on a name for our baby girl, one thing was a given, her middle name!

A couple weeks back when our Fiona Grace was just 3 weeks old she had a very special play date!
My two very best friends since childhood Rebecca and Katie came over with their beautiful little ones, Carley Grace (5), Raylee (3), Bailey Grace (3), and Judson (6 months).

Do you spy a trend yet?

The three of us girls have a bond and friendship that is undeniable.  We have experienced elementary, middle, and high school together and when college came, we managed to find a way to live together.  When walking down the aisle to marry our amazing husbands we each stood next to each other as Matron and Maids of Honor.  We have experienced so much in life together that it only felt right when our first born daughters entered the world that they be connected to each other in some way.
Katie for as long as I can remember wanted to name her daughter Bailey Grace.  Bailey is her mom's maiden name.  Rebecca clenched to her faith more than ever when conceiving her first child so a middle name of Grace was more than appropriate. As for me, there was no way I would let my best friends or the  "Grace Trilogy" down.  Fiona Grace it was.  I find it so very special that not only do these three girls share the same middle name, but we all had our baby girls first.

Here are a few pictures from this very special day when all the kiddos met Fiona Grace!

This was a surreal moment and one I will never forget.

The "Grace Trilogy" is complete!

4 best friends just hanging out!

Everyone got a little special time with little Fi...

Raylee is so sweet!  Every time I hear her say "I wanna see Fiona" my heart melts!

I think it's safe to say that Fiona's first play date was a total success!

I could not be more proud to be Aunt Tiff to these 4 angels!

Oh Judson...you my dear are going to have your hands full protecting all these girls!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Well, the week has officially arrived!  Baby G is due to arrive this Saturday, however, I think we all know this little one and "the man upstairs" are in control of this!  I am sooooo ready to meet our angel!!! So, Baby G, feel free to make today your birthday if you think today feels right!

For us, this past weekend we tried to take it slow, keep the feet elevated (edema is so not cool nor flattering) and enjoy what might have just been our last weekend before becoming parents!

I came home to fresh flowers and strawberries on Friday, Scott knows how to make me smile!
I had a major craving for Zack's, a longtime local spot in Burlington.  So we satisfied my craving.

On Saturday, we spent the morning having a little qt with my brother and soon to be Uncle Brent!
We got out and about and ran a few errands and enjoyed the sunshine.  We even made it out to my BFF's house to see the progress as they move into their forever home. I also totally lost a game of Trouble against Carly Grace (5) and Raylee (3).

We wrapped up the weekend with a little yard work and watched What to Expect When You're Expecting.  Cliche, yes, but it just felt right and was so hilarious! Thank you to my Mama for buying the movie for us! I also think this was her way of keeping me at home and resting!! ;)

I have exciting news to share tomorrow so make sure to stop by!

Wishing you all a beautiful week!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

This past weekend was so busy yet full of fun!  Scott and I kicked the weekend off with one of the most perfect rehearsal dinners I have ever been to. The countless toasts that were given were so heartfelt and brought the entire group to tears.  I have never heard more truer words spoken about two genuine people.

Saturday, we took time before more wedding festivities to finish up all of Baby G's laundry and handle a few items on the "to do" list.

Trapping myself in the laundry room with these tiny and precious outfits isn't too bad!
All other laundry items I have no desire to handle!

Next! It was time to celebrate our dear and lifelong friend John!  We could not be happier for him and Jessica!! I hope they are finally relaxing and soaking up lots of sun in St. Lucia!

Scott and I with the groom!!! YOU DID IT!!

Scott, Baby G, and I...we are just under 3 weeks to go!!!

My handsome brother and amazing and beautiful "Sweet Mama"

Of course there was a brother- sister moment!

So many friends that I haven't seen in years were there! Seeing my gorgeous friend Amy was total icing on the cake!!!! Loved catching up and getting mommy tips from her!

Sunday, ALL DAY LONG, I kidnapped Mama and we tackled ALL of the last minute things for Baby G!  After the glider arrives today and the "take home" outfits hopefully arrive end of the week we are offically set and just waiting on this little one to completely change our lives forever!
I soooooo cannot wait!

As we count down the days and try to remain patient I leave you with this quote!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Let me just start off with these few words...
From hitting the snooze button a gazillion times this morning, to wishing we had another day added to the weekend line up on a permanent basis, to just bottom line not being ready to start the work week just yet, I am asking for a weekend do over.

This weekend was truly a blast!  We celebrated Baby G's very first party with the most gorgeous shower hosted by my two best friends, and our three Mama's!

(Meet Aunt Katie and Aunt Becs)

We felt so showered with so much love and so grateful for our dear friends and family! Here is a peek into the shower, but I will be sharing a full post later with all the pretty details!

Sunday, Scott and I took the day to tackle a few DIY's and we tried to soak up every second we could outside.  It was a gorgeous day with temps close to 70°!

Remember these two lovely's?

The bookcase from Ikea that is getting a total face lift?
Well, the face lift is complete! So expect "reveal" pics very soon!

And these gorgeous vintage lamps I picked up last MAY! After the longest search in America, my Sweet Mama scored us two custom (and perfect) lamp shades! We put the final touches on these darlings this weekend so again...stay tuned for the finished look pics!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend even though I'm sure it wasn't long enough!  Wishing you all a gorgeous week!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Happy Monday! How beautiful was the weather this weekend?! 70° weather in December? Say what?! We spent the weekend in Charlotte catching up with our good friends and met their son, Gavin, who is just shy of 12 weeks old!  It was a nice relaxing weekend with lots of male bonding going on.

Be still my heart!  Scott immediately wanted to hold little Gavin.  He is a total natural!

The two fellas chopping wood for the fire!
Isaac and Scott did two tours in Iraq together so they have a pretty special bond!

After I told them about 5 or more times, be careful, watch your fingers, and asked should you be wearing safety googles?
They thought they would be comedians and try to give me a heart attack!
So not funny!

Brooke and I let the 3 guys prepare dinner for us while we snuggled up on the couch and watched Hallmark Christmas movies. Brooke even shared her tips and tricks on being a mommy that were so needed and much appreciated!
Sunday we got home just in time to run a few errands and wrap a few Christmas gifts.

This week Scott will be turning 32 and in honor of him, I give you the quote of the week.

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

The rain has stopped!!
12 straight days of rain and now...just a little wind!
We made it through in almost all parts of NC without flooding,
but prayers to our sister state South Carolina who is dealing with
insane amounts of flooding!

This weekend my bestie Rebecca and I, along with her two daughters, Carley Grace and Raylee
braved the storm and headed east for Wilmington to see our other bestie Katie and
her daughter Bailey Grace.

Back in 2012, Rebecca had already had Carley Grace and was expecting her
second lil’ girl, Raylee.  Katie was just 2 weeks ahead of “Becs” expecting her first little girl who would be named Bailey Grace.  We all decided when the baby’s started to make their debut that our first born daughters would all have the middle name of Grace.   This name was decided for several different reasons, but most importantly to bond our daughters together in a way that us three have always been bonded.

Here we are in 2012!

And here we are now in 2015!
I am now FINALLY joining the mommy club as we are expecting our first and Katie is expecting her
second, A BOY! We decided to wait and not find out the gender (who doesn't love a good surprise), however, you can believe we have our middle name picked out if Baby G is a precious little girl!

These three little ones will steal your hearts!
They completely melt Aunt Tiff's!

It was an amazing weekend of QT and little girl bonding!
Oh how our "girls trips" have changed and we LOVE IT!

Their designs are beyond presh and have me totally swooning for a little girl to coordinate with!
I had the opportunity to have a little Q & A with Angela and Courtney to get all the juicy details behind their up and coming shop!

Starting NOW until Friday Angela and Courtney are offering all Delightfully Chic readers
a free pair of earrings with any purchase AND free shipping on all orders $25 or more!
Just make sure to mention Delightfully Chic in the comments at check out!

Now Let's get to know the creatives, Angela & Courtney!

How did you meet?
C - Ang and I met during our freshman year at the University of Southern California. We lived down the hall from each other in the dorm and both shared a love for running and scrapbooking. After both pursuing the same major, joining the same sorority, and getting serious about the same faith-- we grew into fast friends!
A – Courtney and I have known each other for a long time now! Since college! We have always had a ton in common. We lived in the same dorm, joined the same sorority, had the same major, ended up pursuing the same studies in grad school years later, both have a love of running, family, faith… and of course crafting! We started with scrapbooking back in college and have now moved into creating accessories for ourselves, our daughters and now, since starting For Mommy & Me, other mommies and daughters too!

How did For Mommy & Me come about?
C - We have always needed a project to keep our creative juices flowing. From writing to crafting, we enjoy working together toward a goal. As young moms, we thought For Mommy & Me would be a great way to be with our kids, explore our creative outlet and make a little extra money for our families.
A – Courtney and I have both crafting on our own for a while but recently we decided to turn our individual hobbies into a business. We work great together and now that we don’t live in the same state anymore, it helps keep us connected. It never feels like work… just fun with a friend!

What are your favorite For Mommy and Me Pieces?
C - Love the jersey turbans and anything with a bow! I love being able to match my daughter!
A - I like the shabby chic flower headbands, fun earrings and hair clips!

Where do you find inspiration to stay creative?
C - I see inspiration all around me. I love walking through the craft stores and touching the fabrics. It helps me to be creative.
A - Inspiration can come from anywhere! Stores we love, online, brainstorming together! It's fun to work with a good friend and be able to chat about new ideas and get excited together. That inspires me. Plus my beautiful baby girl inspires me daily to be a mommy that she can be proud of. Strong, confident, loving and generous - I want her to see these traits in me. This keeps me on my toes sometimes!

What is your favorite part about being a “Mommy”?
C - My favorite part about being a mommy is watching my kids loving life. Seeing them experience something for the first time or grow in some way makes me want to keep on even on the hard days.
A - Being a mommy is the most fun I've ever had and has helped me be content. I love being with my little girl every day and seeing her eyes light up at the sight of a stick on the ground or a butterfly. She has taught me to slow down a bit and just take life in, more like a child.

What makes For Mommy & Me unique?
C - Our company is unique because each and every product is hand-crafted by real moms with daughters who want to bring a little brightness and joy to other moms and daughters.
A – We understand the wants and needs of moms because we are in the same shoes. Our goal is to create items that both moms and daughters will enjoy wearing – nice and comfy and of course, cute! We will also, for every five products purchased, donate one special item to a mommy and daughter in need.

What are your dreams/goals For Mommy and Me brand?!
C - My dream for For Mommy & Me is to engage mommies and daughters by offering beautiful things that will help them have a little fun together. My heart is also to help those in need by offering them the same opportunity through our 1 for 5 program (a program in which, for every five products purchased, one special product will be made and donated to a mommy and daughter in need).
A - I hope mommies and daughters will enjoy our products for years to come!
