Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Well, the week has officially arrived!  Baby G is due to arrive this Saturday, however, I think we all know this little one and "the man upstairs" are in control of this!  I am sooooo ready to meet our angel!!! So, Baby G, feel free to make today your birthday if you think today feels right!

For us, this past weekend we tried to take it slow, keep the feet elevated (edema is so not cool nor flattering) and enjoy what might have just been our last weekend before becoming parents!

I came home to fresh flowers and strawberries on Friday, Scott knows how to make me smile!
I had a major craving for Zack's, a longtime local spot in Burlington.  So we satisfied my craving.

On Saturday, we spent the morning having a little qt with my brother and soon to be Uncle Brent!
We got out and about and ran a few errands and enjoyed the sunshine.  We even made it out to my BFF's house to see the progress as they move into their forever home. I also totally lost a game of Trouble against Carly Grace (5) and Raylee (3).

We wrapped up the weekend with a little yard work and watched What to Expect When You're Expecting.  Cliche, yes, but it just felt right and was so hilarious! Thank you to my Mama for buying the movie for us! I also think this was her way of keeping me at home and resting!! ;)

I have exciting news to share tomorrow so make sure to stop by!

Wishing you all a beautiful week!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend!  I am so excited for this week and the warm temps that are headed our way!!

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to have Sweet Mama and Mama Gaither swoop in to my rescue and tell me to "rest and put your feet up" while they tackled my Saturday cleaning and picked up last minute items for the big delivery day! I am beyond grateful I have not been put on bed rest! I think I would go completely stir crazy!  For us the weekend was pretty low key.  We tried to relax and soak up the calm before the storm.

Mama Gaither brought over my first spring flowers of the season! Spring through summer fresh flowers in our home are a must!!!

We even managed to decorate a touch for Easter and set the table for spring.

Yesterday, Scott and I escaped for a little joy ride in the '48 to wrap up our relaxing weekend!

As we welcome the warm days this week I leave you with these very wise words!

Ps...make sure to stop back by tomorrow to see Baby G's completed nursery!
Here is a sneak peek I shared on Instagram this weekend!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

This past weekend was so busy yet full of fun!  Scott and I kicked the weekend off with one of the most perfect rehearsal dinners I have ever been to. The countless toasts that were given were so heartfelt and brought the entire group to tears.  I have never heard more truer words spoken about two genuine people.

 Saturday, we took time before more wedding festivities to finish up all of Baby G's laundry and handle a few items on the "to do" list.

Trapping myself in the laundry room with these tiny and precious outfits isn't too bad!
All other laundry items I have no desire to handle!

Next! It was time to celebrate our dear and lifelong friend John!  We could not be happier for him and Jessica!! I hope they are finally relaxing and soaking up lots of sun in St. Lucia!

Scott and I with the groom!!! YOU DID IT!!

Scott, Baby G, and I...we are just under 3 weeks to go!!!

My handsome brother and amazing and beautiful "Sweet Mama"

Of course there was a brother- sister moment!

So many friends that I haven't seen in years were there! Seeing my gorgeous friend Amy was total icing on the cake!!!! Loved catching up and getting mommy tips from her!

Sunday, ALL DAY LONG, I kidnapped Mama and we tackled ALL of the last minute things for Baby G!  After the glider arrives today and the "take home" outfits hopefully arrive end of the week we are offically set and just waiting on this little one to completely change our lives forever!
I soooooo cannot wait!

As we count down the days and try to remain patient I leave you with this quote!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Is the weekend really over already??  I swear they get shorter and shorter!  This weekend our good friends Brooke and Isaac came in from Charlotte to spend the day with us.  We had an amazing lunch at one of our favorite local spots The Root in Elon their little fella, Gavin, once again completely stole the show and melted our hearts! Is he not just precious as can be??

And for the first time I think ever on the blog and for that matter any social media outlet I thought I would share my "weekly" bump pic! OK, so I might not snap them weekly, but we have a fairly decent collection of the ever growing bump!  I have officially "dropped" with just 4 weeks to go!

Sunday I did a little more nesting! I took inventory of Baby G's library!  Let me just say, if you are expecting a little one you have to of course get the classics, but also promise me you will get "The Wonderful Things You Will Be"!  I cannot WAIT to read this one to Baby G! It's a total fave of mine! The illustrations are just presh!

This weekend we had warmer temps reaching almost 70° however, the clouds were still hanging around.  Clouds or not I just couldn't resist a colorful Sunday afternoon snack!  Avocado with a splash of lime juice and strawberries are one of my favorite snacks on warm spring and summer days!

Wishing you all a beautiful week! Now let's all throw a little confetti!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Happy Monday! I am one busy lady today! I feel like the countdown is officially on and with just under 6 weeks to go before the big due date I want to tie up all loose ends so I can relax and enjoy the end of this amazing ride!

It was another packed weekend and unfortunately in all the fun chaos I neglected to download my pics!  So instead of images from the weekend, I am going to share quotes!

Saturday, we had our 3rd and last shower for Baby G!  It was a GORGEOUS one and I will be sharing all the details soon in an upcoming post!

As for Sunday, Scott and I worked with my dear friend and amazing photographer Brittany Blake to capture our maternity pics!  I cannot wait to see how they turned out.

After we wrapped the shoot, we headed out to meet up with Scott’s co-workers to watch the big Super Bowl!  As a NC girl, it just felt wrong to not pull for the Panthers, but Peyton Manning is such a class act and with him possibly retiring I have to say I enjoyed seeing the Bronco’s win!

And...for your quote of the week...

Happy Monday!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Let me just start off with these few words...
From hitting the snooze button a gazillion times this morning, to wishing we had another day added to the weekend line up on a permanent basis, to just bottom line not being ready to start the work week just yet, I am asking for a weekend do over.

This weekend was truly a blast!  We celebrated Baby G's very first party with the most gorgeous shower hosted by my two best friends, and our three Mama's!

(Meet Aunt Katie and Aunt Becs)

We felt so showered with so much love and so grateful for our dear friends and family! Here is a peek into the shower, but I will be sharing a full post later with all the pretty details!

Sunday, Scott and I took the day to tackle a few DIY's and we tried to soak up every second we could outside.  It was a gorgeous day with temps close to 70°!

Remember these two lovely's?

The bookcase from Ikea that is getting a total face lift?
Well, the face lift is complete! So expect "reveal" pics very soon!

And these gorgeous vintage lamps I picked up last MAY! After the longest search in America, my Sweet Mama scored us two custom (and perfect) lamp shades! We put the final touches on these darlings this weekend so again...stay tuned for the finished look pics!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend even though I'm sure it wasn't long enough!  Wishing you all a gorgeous week!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Happy super chilly Tuesday! I think Old Man Winter has officially arrived!  This past weekend we woke up to snow flurries on Saturday and today we started the day with temps in the low teens! Time to break out the parkas!

Over the weekend Scott and I made our way back to Charlotte to catch up with our friends and knock out a few to do's for Baby G's Nursery!  I am determined to finish up this sweet little room within the next two weeks.

One project on the list was the "box" that will go on the changing table and around the changing pad.  I thought it was beyond special that Scott wanted to take this on and build himself.

I might have also got a litte sidetracked when we stopped by Ikea, but this bookcase has been calling my name for quite sometime now and while we were there it was just a must.

Make sure to stay tuned on this little gems transformation.  I have big plans for this piece!

Yesterday, I took the entire day to take on tasks around the house.  Sweet Mama and I even got in a little fabric shopping time! Another project I have up my sleeve that I will be sharing later!

And for fun, I thought I would share one of my more simple DIY moments for Baby G's nursery that I completed a few weeks back.

 I really wanted to spray the animals gold, but Scott quickly put the breaks on my over the top gold obsession, and in the end, I think he was totally right in making this call!

I hope you all enjoyed your nice long (and I'm sure much deserved) weekend. Wrap up warm today and remember bring all our little furry friends inside until it warms up!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up...BabyMoon}

This past weekend Scott and I really tried to take it easy and spend lots of quality time together.  With less than 10 weeks until we meet little Baby G and become parents we just wanted to really soak up the moments.  So on Saturday we stayed in PJ’s as long as we could stand it, then we tackled a few DIY’s around the house.  Afterwards, we continued our latest binge marathon of Breaking Bad.  Around 6pm I started to go stir crazy!  So we did what any 30 something married couple expecting their first baby would do…we went to the mall and walked laps!!!! You heard me! Oh how times have changed! Sunday morning we decided to wake up early and head to Blowing Rock for a mini babymoon!

It was freezing cold and there were snow flurries the entire time we were there! I loved every minute of our trip!

We started the day off at Canyon's!  The food and views were spectacular.  I really wish I could have captured the snow better.
They were expecting about an inch.

I'm sure it is no surpirse for those who know me that I went with the tacos!

Next, we headed to Main Street for a little shopping! I had to make the obligatory stop at Kilwins for a chocolate/caramel apple! Believe it or not, I resisted until we made it home.  It was the perfect "late night" snack.

Before, we started our way back home we made sure to stop by the Mast General Store in Boone.  Another obligatory stop! Scott and I both have a serious sweet tooth for candy.  I so hope my doctor isn't reading this post!

Our day trip- mini babymoon was just perfect!  It was all that I had hoped for.  QT with the man who makes my dreams come true!

 See ya soon Baby G...
