A Shower for Baby G

This past Saturday our sweet little Baby G was showered with so much love! My two very best friends and our Mom's joined forces and hosted the most gorgeous and perfect shower.

These two are so excited to finally take on the title as Aunt Becs and Aunt Katie!
Being Aunt Tiff to their four little ones (Carley Grace, Bailey Grace, Raylee, and Judson) has been such an honor and a title I hold very dear.

These ladies know I am a gold and white fanatic so of course, they hit a home run in my book with the decor!

Not knowing the gender of your baby might be a hard thing for some, but for us Baby G is all we need to know.  I also thought we would just skip all the monogrammed items until he or she arrives and has their "official name", but Baby G has really stuck! I am almost certain I will slip up and say this many times after our miracle arrives.  Some of my favorite and most cherished gifts were those monogrammed with "Baby G"! This bunting brought tears to my eyes! There is a good chance you will find this hanging in the delivery room!

Another trend you might be picking up on, giraffes!  I think it's safe to say that Baby G's nursery has a couple giraffes, elephants, monkeys, umm...actually, the list could go on! I have a HUGE love of animals and this is something I really hope to pass on to our child.  Throughout the decorating process my mama has said to me "do you think it's too many animals"?  I just laugh and say "No Way"!! Then tell her of the next one I want to add! haha

Speaking of Sweet Mama, can we please give her a round of applause for this gorgeous presentation!
Again, they know me, Baby G's gifts from GiGi, Pappy, and Uncle Brent came wrapped in perfection!

Some of my closest girlfriends!
I wish I could have snapped pics with all my girlfriends that came out to celebrate!

And...here are just a few people that are extremely excited to meet Baby G!

First time Grandmother, "GiGi"...Oh how she is already spoiling you little one!
If I am even HALF the mother she has been to Brent and me, I got this thing in the bag!

First time Grandfather, "Pappy"... all I can say is, if Baby G is a girl (like me) she will be smitten with her Pappy! But, if you are boy my little dear one, plan on LOTS of fishing trips! My Daddy, surely hung the moon!  At the end of the shower he came strolling in to surprise us all and check out things! He's so precious!

The man who makes all my dreams come true! I absolutely cannot wait to see Scott as a father.  He is everything I prayed for and more.  Baby G and I are so very fortunate God chose you for us.

I am so thankful for such a perfect day and for friends and family who love us and our angel!
Counting our blessings and naming them one by one!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Let me just start off with these few words...
From hitting the snooze button a gazillion times this morning, to wishing we had another day added to the weekend line up on a permanent basis, to just bottom line not being ready to start the work week just yet, I am asking for a weekend do over.

This weekend was truly a blast!  We celebrated Baby G's very first party with the most gorgeous shower hosted by my two best friends, and our three Mama's!

(Meet Aunt Katie and Aunt Becs)

We felt so showered with so much love and so grateful for our dear friends and family! Here is a peek into the shower, but I will be sharing a full post later with all the pretty details!

Sunday, Scott and I took the day to tackle a few DIY's and we tried to soak up every second we could outside.  It was a gorgeous day with temps close to 70°!

Remember these two lovely's?

The bookcase from Ikea that is getting a total face lift?
Well, the face lift is complete! So expect "reveal" pics very soon!

And these gorgeous vintage lamps I picked up last MAY! After the longest search in America, my Sweet Mama scored us two custom (and perfect) lamp shades! We put the final touches on these darlings this weekend so again...stay tuned for the finished look pics!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend even though I'm sure it wasn't long enough!  Wishing you all a gorgeous week!

Mommy to Be Mocktails

As promised!
Today I give you 3 Mocktails that have caught my eye during the first trimester.
Having a glass of wine is said to be perfectly safe these days (according to some sources)
during pregnancy, but if you know me at all you know that safe or not, I just won't go that route.
However, after sweet little Baby G arrives safe and sound you can best believe I will
request a bubbly glass of champs, a stiff G + T or maybe I will go with
that gorgeous deep red Malbec!  Then again, I'll probably be too tired to even
hold my head up for sip.  Time will tell!

Yall know this mommy to be LOVES a good ole Mimosa so when I laid eyes on
this virgin Orange Strawberry Mimosa I squealed just a little.

1 cup of Orange Juice
1 ½ cup of sugar
2 cups of Strawberries
2 cups of water
16 oz club soda

In a sauce pan cook ½ cup of sugar and orange juice down until it becomes thick syrup.
Set aside.  In another Sauce pan combine 1 cup of sugar, strawberries and the water,
heat until the strawberries turn to mush. In a silver strainer strain all the strawberries
off until your left with the strawberry juice. The get 4 champagne flutes fill the
orange juice ¼ of the way up. Add the strawberries until it is ¾ the way up from the
glass and top glass off with club soda.
