Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Well, the week has officially arrived!  Baby G is due to arrive this Saturday, however, I think we all know this little one and "the man upstairs" are in control of this!  I am sooooo ready to meet our angel!!! So, Baby G, feel free to make today your birthday if you think today feels right!

For us, this past weekend we tried to take it slow, keep the feet elevated (edema is so not cool nor flattering) and enjoy what might have just been our last weekend before becoming parents!

I came home to fresh flowers and strawberries on Friday, Scott knows how to make me smile!
I had a major craving for Zack's, a longtime local spot in Burlington.  So we satisfied my craving.

On Saturday, we spent the morning having a little qt with my brother and soon to be Uncle Brent!
We got out and about and ran a few errands and enjoyed the sunshine.  We even made it out to my BFF's house to see the progress as they move into their forever home. I also totally lost a game of Trouble against Carly Grace (5) and Raylee (3).

We wrapped up the weekend with a little yard work and watched What to Expect When You're Expecting.  Cliche, yes, but it just felt right and was so hilarious! Thank you to my Mama for buying the movie for us! I also think this was her way of keeping me at home and resting!! ;)

I have exciting news to share tomorrow so make sure to stop by!

Wishing you all a beautiful week!

Maternity Session with Brittany Blake Photography

At 34 weeks my dearest and incredible photographer friend Brittany Blake of Brittany Blake Photography was back behind her lens again for us capturing the most precious memories.  Maternity pictures are something I knew I wanted for Baby G to have to look back on one day, but not something I was thrilled about taking.  I once again let go and left it all in the hands of Brittany who made me feel completely beautiful in my own skin.

Today I am sharing a few of my favorites (I love the black and white shots) but to see the complete session stop by the Brittany Blake Photography Blog and join us on our journey to becoming parents!

Baby G's Nursery

We are less than two weeks away and I am so very excited to share with all of you our Sweet Baby G's very first room, the nursery!

When deciding how I wanted to style our little one's nursery there were a few things I was immediately certain on.   I knew I wanted it to be bright and clean and I wanted it to really feel like a peaceful oasis.   So many times I have been asked, “How will you ever decorate the nursery when you don’t even know Baby G’s gender?”  For me, this was easy.  Even if we had found out the sex, that wouldn’t have swayed my design plans.  There would be no blue and no pink.  As you know by now one of my favorite color combos is white and gold.  Ok, so I knew immediately white and gold were a must, next it was deciding on a soft shade of color that was gender neutral.  After a trip to Lowes and a handful of paint samples, we decided on Valspar Mint Hint!  It was the perfect pop of color for the nursery.

Next, a “theme”!  I am not one to swoon over the typical baby items, but I did want the room to still reflect the tiny little angel that will soon be joining our family and hearts forever.  I am a huge lover of animals, especially baby animals.   A while back I had spotted the most gorgeous photographs of baby animals by The Animal Print Shop and quickly knew these were a must!  Once we had these prints in hand, the rest of the nursery just fell into place.

For us, the nursery just wouldn't be complete without our two favorite toys from childhood.  Scott's teddy bear wearing the t-shirt he was given when he was born in Okinawa, Japan and my precious Raggedy Ann that I like to call "Rags".

Scott and his close friend Isaac built the changing table for Baby G which makes it that more special.  They even took the sides a little higher with hopes that this Mama-to-be would worry maybe just a tiny touch less.

The closet, couldn't be forgotten.  Shopping for this little one has been a bit challenging, but I have had moments of weakness and purchased gender specific items.  I am doing my best not to shop until Baby G arrives.  For the closet, organization was a must!  So far we have kept things very tidy however, I make no promises on how long this will last!

All that we need now to complete the nursery is our Sweet Baby G!  We have 11 days until our due date, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I would love to meet our precious angel today.  When you are ready little one, we are ready!

You can shop the look over at LIKEtoKNOW.it

The gold and marble side table was one of my DIY projects and the dresser and chest of drawers were actually thrift store buys that a coat of paint and I brought back to life!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Happy Monday!! I hope you all had a relaxing weekend!  I am so excited for this week and the warm temps that are headed our way!!

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to have Sweet Mama and Mama Gaither swoop in to my rescue and tell me to "rest and put your feet up" while they tackled my Saturday cleaning and picked up last minute items for the big delivery day! I am beyond grateful I have not been put on bed rest! I think I would go completely stir crazy!  For us the weekend was pretty low key.  We tried to relax and soak up the calm before the storm.

Mama Gaither brought over my first spring flowers of the season! Spring through summer fresh flowers in our home are a must!!!

We even managed to decorate a touch for Easter and set the table for spring.

Yesterday, Scott and I escaped for a little joy ride in the '48 to wrap up our relaxing weekend!

As we welcome the warm days this week I leave you with these very wise words!

Ps...make sure to stop back by tomorrow to see Baby G's completed nursery!
Here is a sneak peek I shared on Instagram this weekend!

Keeping It Real with 2 Weeks To Go!

Hello my darlings!  I just wanted to take a second to keep things completely real!  We are 2 weeks until due date and my feet now have the tendency to plump up like southern biscuit and my hands are as numb as they can be from developing carpel tunnel caused by the pregnancy!  BOTH should quickly go away after Baby G arrives!  Hooray! I am starting to have days where I feel as if I can barely keep my eyes open and days that honestly I just don’t feel like doing much.  This is all new to me as I have been beyond blessed with an amazing pregnancy! Even the first trimester, no sickness and just a touch on the sleepy side.  Then there are days like today that I throw all caution to the wind and strut out of the house in my tennis shoes without a care in the world for my fashion sense and suddenly have tons of energy!! I feel like I could conquer the world!!  So with all that being said, I just want to say over the next few weeks as we approach delivery and take on our new roles as “Mama and Daddy” daily posts will take a backseat, but I will still be posting 2-3 times weekly and of course you can always follow Delightfully Chic on Instagram for daily posts!  I have a few bloggers who will also be stepping in to do some posts while I adjust to my new role.

AND… as of next week I will be sharing two posts that I am so over the moon excited about!

1. Our Maternity Session with the amazing Brittany Blake of Brittany Blake Photography
2. The reveal of Baby G’s Nursery!!! We are pretty smitten over it, I hope you love as much as we do!

Until then, here is a sneak peek of both!

The Chic One Piece

With just 17 days to go until Baby G is due to arrive and 88 days until Memorial Day a girl can only think about warm beach days and EEK swimwear!!!
This year I have some concerns that a tiny little bikini might just be out of the picture!  Hello, I'm going to be "Mama" so it's time to cover up a touch, but also let's be real...I have no idea what kind of workout routine will be required to bounce back to bikini status.
Luckily for all of the moms to be out there the one piece swimsuit market is hotter than ever!

Here are six that I totally would love to slip into for a frolic on the beach as a family of three!

Are you loving too?
