We are less than two weeks away and I am so very excited to share with all of you our Sweet Baby G's very first room, the nursery!
When deciding how I wanted to style our little one's nursery
there were a few things I was immediately certain on. I knew
I wanted it to be bright and clean and I wanted it to really feel like a peaceful
oasis. So many times I have been asked,
“How will you ever decorate the nursery when you don’t even know Baby G’s
gender?” For me, this was easy. Even if we had found out the sex, that wouldn’t
have swayed my design plans. There would
be no blue and no pink. As you know by
now one of my favorite color combos is white and gold. Ok, so I knew immediately white and gold were
a must, next it was deciding on a soft shade of color that was gender neutral. After a trip to Lowes and a handful of paint
samples, we decided on Valspar Mint Hint!
It was the perfect pop of color for the nursery.
Next, a “theme”! I am
not one to swoon over the typical baby items, but I did want the room to still reflect
the tiny little angel that will soon be joining our family and hearts forever. I am a huge lover of animals, especially baby
animals. A while back I had spotted the most gorgeous photographs
of baby animals by The Animal Print Shop and quickly knew these were a must! Once we had these prints in hand, the rest of the nursery just fell into place.
For us, the nursery just wouldn't be complete without our two favorite toys from childhood. Scott's teddy bear wearing the t-shirt he was given when he was born in Okinawa, Japan and my precious Raggedy Ann that I like to call "Rags".
Scott and his close friend Isaac built the changing table for Baby G which makes it that more special. They even took the sides a little higher with hopes that this Mama-to-be would worry maybe just a tiny touch less.
The closet, couldn't be forgotten. Shopping for this little one has been a bit challenging, but I have had moments of weakness and purchased gender specific items. I am doing my best not to shop until Baby G arrives. For the closet, organization was a must! So far we have kept things very tidy however, I make no promises on how long this will last!
All that we need now to complete the nursery is our Sweet Baby G! We have 11 days until our due date, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I would love to meet our precious angel today. When you are ready little one, we are ready!
