Extending the Olive Branch

There's a new tree in town!

I think we are all well aware of the Fiddle Fig Tree trend that’s been going strong for over a year now.   To be clear, I am STILL very much obsessed with fiddle fig leaves and all their beauty.
However, if you are totally over the bright green leaf and ready to move on to something a little more subtle and softer in color then the Olive Tree is totally the tree for you.

Having plants in your home provides so many benefits from cleaning the air in your space, prompting relaxation, and they even inspire life and creativity into your home and space.   Don’t worry if you have a black thumb I have a few options for you below too!

Norwegian Home Incorporates the Olive Tree

One of the many things I love about the olive tree is you can go big or small!
This happy little tree can sit on your kitchen counter or stand tall in your living room.

If taking on a live tree is just too much of a thought to bear then why not try a faux olive tree or incorporate branches in your space or even a throw pillow?

Sunday Sanctuary: Delightfully Chic Home Office

Scott and I both have our own offices in our home and somehow I ended up with the smaller of the two!  Say What?  In all honesty there was something about the coziness of my office that really appealed to me.  It just felt right.  As I've said before I have been working room by room to redesign each space in our home.  My office has been so low on the list, but after Fi was born all of her wonderful distractions started to pull me away from blogging and my visions for Delightfully Chic.  I immediately knew I had to move the office up on the priority list to help keep me focused and inspired.

In order to de-clutter my thoughts, recharge my batteries and get this project underway I removed every single item from the office and started with a fresh coat of paint.  I went with one of my favorite colors, Decorators White by Benjamin Moore.  Then I pulled back in the items I knew I still wanted in the office.  My desk, chair, and stool from the original DC collection. That was it! Everything else will be finding a new landing place.  Now what?  Well, I plan to change the curtain rod, light fixture, purchase a new computer, add in wall art, plant life, and anything else that inspires me.

Here a few spaces that inspire me and follow my vision for the new Delightfully Chic office.

Easter Decor

At the very moment that March 1st arrives the Easter decorations are coming out!  During the last couple of weeks before Baby G is due to arrive I want to make sure the house is all taken care of and all I have to do is bring this sweet little baby into the world! (That should be super simple righttt...EEK)  So, the wheels are turning on how I will decorate The Gaither household.  One thing for sure that will make its reprise  will be my DIY Easter Eggs from last year.

Another MUST will be tulips! One thing I absolutely adore is fresh flowers in our home.

The final look I am still debating.

Winter Decor

After all the Christmas decorations have been tucked away for the year I start to feel that our home looks empty.  Then I immediately look around and realize I have the most clean and perfect pallet to style our home for the winter months. For me, I have two go to décor items every winter season, pine-cones and all things blue, silver, and white.  More specifically our Chinoiserie collection.  I will be sharing shots from around our home with you in the upcoming days, but until then here are a few from Pinterest (my guilty pleasure) to inspire.

What are your go to pieces when decorating your home for the cold winter months?

My Name is Tiffany, And I'm a Slacker

To be completely honest, I am so not prepared for this week’s Fashion Fix Friday!
I’ve been running around crazy this week and this morning we had a
checkup with the doctor to hear that sweet little heartbeat again of our precious Baby G!
So, with that being said, today I’m turning to my guilty pleasure Pinterest and
sharing fall looks that I am loving!

Contemplating {Stripes}

Lately I have been pondering the idea (yet again) of adding wallpaper to our home.
There are so many cool patterns and variations of the once horrid and painful wall coverings that my wheels are turning.  But before I rush out to pick up a few rolls of the nightmare turned stylish goodness I think I want to first try something I’ve been wanting to do since my previous home.
Painted striped walls!
I previously wanted to paint my laundry room in horizontal yellow and white stripes.
Now I am thinking I need to feature an accent wall in my home office with simple black and white stripes. Thoughts?! Don’t you think this would be super fun and by only tackling a smaller accent wall this should be totally doable and completely stress free!   Right?!
I bet Sweet Mama is reading this post going,
“Oh my…if these lines aren’t completely straight and perfect everyone
prepare for a breakdown!” HA!
No worries, people.  I’ll be as cool as the flip side of my pillow!
That is, until perfection has been achieved! ;)

But, seriously, How FUN?!

I think in my office space I would go with vertical stripes but, still debating!
The other accent colors planned are soft shades of pink because what southern girl
doesn't love a little blush and bashful.  You can see my office inspiration in this post here.

Love it or Hate it?!
