The Search Continues {For the Perfect Rug}

Since day one of moving into our new home
I  have struggled with finding the perfect rug for 3 particular spaces.
 Our downstairs bathroom, our upstairs guest bathroom, and our breakfast nook.
I "think" I know what I want and I usually can find what I am looking for, but then
sticker shock sets in.  I refuse to invest an insane amount into a gorgeous rug and
then constantly stress them getting dirty when little ones come along.
I want beautiful rugs, but at a reasonable price, that I can enjoy!

Here's where I'm at on the search and
I'm feeling really good about these prices!
As much as I would completely die for a one of a kind Persian Rug,
5k plus just isn't in the budget!

All of these I am loving for our guest bathroom!
 distressed

 And here is where the "I think"
I know exactly what I want falls apart!

I cannot for the life of me commit to a color scheme!

And the downstairs bathroom...

Do you have go to shops for your rugs?!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Happy Monday!
How was your weekend?
 We are still riding one crazy heat wave here in NC and all I can think about is the beach!
We have a couple more weeks before we head that way but, I will be more than ready when
the time arrives. Since Scott's dad had to be out of town on
father’s day, we celebrated Friday night with a family dinner and some country cooking
at a Gaither fave, Cracker Barrel!
Slacker here did not even snap one pic!  How terrible is that?!

Saturday, Scott and I spent the day in Apex.
We started the morning by picking up my wedding bouquet that I had
dried and placed in a shadow box. I just love it!
The box also includes my feather embellished hairpiece and belt
that I wore during the reception and part of our wedding invitation.

Next, it was off to the  Peak City Pig Fest in downtown Apex.
So much fun, but my word it was H-O-T, HOT!
We took in good food, pig races, and a little shopping!

Sunday, it was all about the man who hung the moon!
Church, afternoon lunch, presents, and QT!
My brother and Tina had to miss the celebration as they were back in NYC
Celebrating Tina’s brother’s wedding!

Sweet daddy! I just can't tell you how much I love this man!

We wrapped up the weekend as we usually do with a ride in the ’48 and a trip
to Lowes.  Saturday I picked up a dresser that I have big plans for so I needed to get a few
paint samples.  Stay tuned for updates on this DIY!

I could not agree more with this weeks quote!
It's even more fitting for hot summer days!

 Here's to the last full week of June!
Make it a great one!

Fashion Fix Friday {Monochromatic}

A simple look that anyone can work with is monochromatic, a mixture of the same color in various shades.  The mono look has been around in the fashion world for as long as I can remember,
but it seems to be ultra-popular right now.

Have a blast this weekend and why not give
a monochromatic outfit a try?!

For the Love of Cooking {Spicy Sweet Potato Chip + Avocado Sandwich}

As I have mentioned before I have made the transition to an {almost} complete
vegetarian diet. Naturally, I am not a huge fan of meat and what little I do eat
(brunt to a crisp bacon dripping in maple syrup and pulled pork sandwiches)
is only on the very rare occasion.  So, when I stumble across a recipe, like this weeks
For the Love of Cooking feature by Dolly and Oatmeal I get super excited!

Spicy Sweet Potato Chip + Avocado Sandwich

{Ingredients}

1 large sweet potato, sliced lengthwise to about 1/8-inch thickness
1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
large grain sea salt + fresh ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon mild paprika
1 ripe avocado, sliced
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
Micro greens, sprouts, small lettuce, etc.
4 slices favorite gluten-free bread (or 2 rolls), toasted

 {Spicy Special Sauce}
1 teaspoon good dijon mustard
2 1/2 tablespoons mayonnaise or vegenaise
1 small garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspoon sriracha
1/4 teaspoon maple syrup

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Hey!! I’m back!  Guess who had an impromptu extra day of vacation thanks to
a cancelled flight?!  THIS GIRL!  Scott and I left out on Friday to join my brother, Brent,
his fiancée Tina, and two other friends (Jamie and Michelle) along with lots of family in
Connecticut (where Tina's family lives) for my brother's Stag Party!
 It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but lots of fun!  When we arrived Friday we picked up
two rental cars and the guys and girls went our separate ways for wedding festivities until
meeting back up later that evening.  Here are a few pics from our Friday night fun!

Saturday,  we started the day off in true Arduini House fashion!
One of the best perks about Brent marrying Tina (besides Tina herself who I adore) is her AMAZING big Italian family that comes along with her!  I love love love the Arduini gang! I always feel at home when I visit and you can always count on amazing bevs and meals!  After we "recovered" from Friday night (just kiddin' mama) we walked the beach, did a little day drinking (sorry about that too mama) and took in a few beautiful homes!

Sunday was a day of R + R  with family until heading to the airport where we all know
what went down!  But, Hey, how can anyone complain about an extra nights stay in NYC?!

 The hubby and I had a mini date night (at the hotel bar) and
made it back home safely late yesterday!

And that's all folks!  This girl is tired but, thankful for an amazing weekend
with so many that I love and adore!

*********

I decided on this quote for the this week because even though Scott and I spent multiply unplanned hours in the airport on Sunday and then again for over most of the day yesterday, the time we spent there was one I will always cherish.  No matter the situation we are put in we always seem to laugh till it hurts and make the best of our time together.  I absolutely love and adore this life I live with you!

Wishing you all an amazing week!
