Time to Celebrate

Hey loves! I have to be honest, I'm taking the day OFF!! I have been celebrating since 6am this morning and don't plan to stop until I drop!  Which will probably be about 8pm! I have a hard time kicking the heels up these days with the baby bump in tow! ;)  See you all back here tomorrow!

Macarons, Marshmallows, and Meringues...Oh My!

Tomorrow I celebrate my 34th birthday!  I am not a cake person but I do love pretty things and I adore a macaron!  The other night I stumbled across this insanely fun and gorgeous Vanilla Bean Cake topped with Macarons, Marshmallows, and Meringues and my eyes nearly doubled in size!   I immediately sent this to Sweet Mama saying “you think you can whip this up for me on Thursday”?!  She rolled with laughter! You have to know that years ago I “tortured” mama with cake decorating classes and once we completed the two part series she swore she would NEVER bake or decorate another cake in her life!  I for one still hold what I learned near and dear, but hardly ever put my skills to the test! I am insistent that we recreate this cake one day.  Maybe for Baby G’s first birthday??

 Head over to  Fork to Belly and see how they made this gem for their first Blogiversary!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Happy New Year!!
I want to start off the very first post of 2016 by saying THANK YOU to all of the Delightfully Chic readers out there.  You have no idea how much your support over the past year (and since 2010) has meant to me.  I hope you all are enjoying to the new and refined look of Delightfully Chic and loving the new website! We still have so much up our sleeves and I can’t wait to share with all of you this year!

So, how was your NYE?  Did you put on ritz and hit the town?  Or did you snuggle on the couch in your pj’s like me?  I have to say there was nothing glamorous about our evening.  Scott was on call this past weekend and of course duty called.  However, being the awesome husband that he is, Scott swooped in at 11:30pm just in time for us to ring the New Year in together!

New Year’s Day and the remainder of the weekend was all about undecking the halls, FYI, so not as much fun as decking the halls.  We also took time to work in the nursery.  Baby G’s closet was originally this horrid yellowish beige color that of course just had to go!  So on New Year’s Day Sweet Mama came over to tackle this project for me.  This picture cracks me up, doesn’t it look like a total accident waiting to happen?  God Bless this woman!  I seriously don’t know what I would do without her.

Sunday was church, and then we took some time to celebrate my first "baby", Presley Hope, who turned 14 years old.  She might have a little trouble hearing these days and she might move a touch slower but my sweet Presley Hope is still the most loving lil' ball of fur that has ever graced my life! She still loves to play with her toys and now she's taken to snugglin' on Mama's growing belly AND every once in a while that feisty side of hers makes an appearance!! I pray little girl that we have many more years with you!

Now that the New Year is officially a wrap, it's time to turn the focus to...MY BIRTHDAY!  That's right! On Thursday this little lady turns 34 years old!  I have a feeling this year is going to be one for the books!!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

Happy Monday and Merry Christmas!  This past weekend we celebrated my amazing husband’s 32nd Birthday! We kicked things off on Friday night with a birthday dinner with my family!

Saturday on Scott’s actual birthday we started the morning with gifts of course.  After Scott was spoiled, we spent the day with Scott’s parents and nephew shopping and just spending QT time together.

Saturday night we wrapped up the celebrations with dinner with a few of our closest friends.  After dinner we all drove out to see what all the fuss was about regarding a home in a neighborhood putting on a light show.  It really was pretty cool, the family broadcast from a local radio station so once you tuned in and had the music the show was super adorable!  Right now we keep our home pretty Christmas classic, but I told Scott we totally have to do a National Lampoons kinda Christmas as we continue to grow our family!

Sunday, was super exciting! We registered for our precious little Baby G!  I have had the hardest time with  registering because I am not really into the "baby stuff".  You all know I am simple. I like whites and golds and clean crisp looks.  So trying to keep this in mind while prepping for a baby that we don't even know the gender of is super hard.  BUT, we did it! 4 registries total!!  I am finally happy with the selections! Registering for our wedding was way easier.  I feel so clueless shopping for the "necessities" for Baby G, but I totally have a handle on buying our angel clothes!

I just love this picture of Scott! It just melts my heart when I see him reading up on strollers and such to make sure they are perfect and safe for Baby G.  My nickname for him is "Danny Tanner" because he has so many of the same qualities.  I just love it!

***

I wish you all the most beautiful and magical Christmas and may we all today and always remember the reason for the season!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

First, I want to apologize for going MIA on yall at the end of last week, but I had a top secret
60th SURPRISE PARTY I was working to pull off for our amazing, sweet, loving,
caring, wonderful Sweet Mama.
AND WE DID IT!! She was completely surprised, over the moon excited,
and showered with lots of love from friends and family!

It was perfect!

I have to say I cannot stop beating myself up over the fact I did not snap not ONE single picture
of the outdoor decor!! But, since you can't see it I will let you know it was gorgeous navy linens
with  vintage white vases to show off the varied colorful flower arrangements.
Each place setting had a special card about Sweet Mama and the year she was born.
We also had a "Memory Jar" for all the guest to share their favorite memories with Mama.
I honestly think this was one of her favorite parts as she said
"we have to do this at every birthday from here on out" haha!

Thank you Mama for being YOU and for loving all of us unconditionally and showing
us the special grace of a mother! We love you more than words and hope you know
how much we appreciate you and all that you do!

And with that said... your quote of the week!
