I Spy {Governors Ball Festival Fashion}

The Governors Ball was this past weekend in NYC and as with any musical festival that I am not in attendance, my level of envy was pretty major!
The three day event was one big ole' muddy mess but, let's be real, a phenom music line up and reverting back to childish mud pie shenanigans is surely a recipe for one blast of a good time!

I Spy {Cuff Chicness Part II...}

Last week's I Spy (see it here) was all about an old fave making a serious comeback!

"The Cuff"

Now, as I said last week, my brother and I had our cuffs, tight-rolls and all down to a science.

The 2013 version takes on more of an effortless look however, let's be real here, we KNOW these cuffs had some attention to their detail.
This week I decided to make sure the fellas out there know they were not forgotten.

I personally think this is on sexy chic look for men and beg you all to go for it!!

This week's I Spy is a look that completely takes me back to my "younger days".

Who out there remembers the "tight rolled" jean look of the 80's?

For those who don't...

BAM!

I swear my brother and I had this look down to a science with our Eastlands!!

Never in a million years did I think I would find myself perfecting my "cuffs" yet again in life and here I am...rocking with pride!

Now, we aren't quite back to the full blown tight roll {don't think for a second I won't attempt} but, whether it be a pair of skinny jeans paired with ankle boots or pumps or even your favorite loose fitting boyfriend denims with flats or sandals-this is a look I warmly welcome!

Flower Bomb

When the RTW Spring 2013 collections hit the runway back in early fall,
one trend that was evident…Floral prints!

Anthropologie is offering up a few chic Charlie Trousers perfect for the upcoming season. I for one have a total flashback moment to the year 2000 and a pair of green floral pants that I begged my mother for because duh they were “the hottest and a total must have”!! Did I mention my must haves turned from a dark green to a cobalt blue when they were in the presence of a black light?!
Oh yeah, talk about surprise when I hit the dance for the first time rocking them!
Looking back, I do the typical, WHAT was I thinking and well look at me now…ready to pick up a new pair!!

NYE Review

Happy New Years my darlings!

I had a quick second so thought I would just share a few pics from NYE.

This years NYE dress was sooo comfy and glam all at the same time! 

Usually, all the sequins can be a little painful and scratch but, Swoon Boutique totally hooked this lady up and I danced the night away!

Quote Of The Week {Farewell & Welcome}

Do you have your extra glam attire ready for tonight?!  I sure hope so because ready or not, it's time to wrap up 2012 as we say so long with bubbly toasts and welcome 2013?!

Here is a sneak peak of my attire for the evening!

I have declared 2013 a year of CHANGE!! 

A few areas of focus for me in the up coming, sure to be amazing year!

Meditate  

I never take time to disconnect from everything and breath.  No cell phone, no computer, no tv, no music, no anything.  Just me and 5-10 minutes everyday to sit in complete silence. 

Treat my body as a temple

I plan to start the year with a 3 day Detox.  (click here to see the detox plan i have chosen) 

After I make it through the cleanse (Lord Willing) I would really like to be more mindful and cautious of the way I treat my body.

Manage Money 

Ok, I will be the FIRST to admit that Yes, I do NOT watch my money as well as I should.  If I see something I want I usually buy it.  Shoppers/Buyers remorse is something I rarely encounter.

Now let's not get crazy- I don't plan to completely stop treating myself however, maybe not so frequently.    

MBA

As if I don't have enough on my plate (working a full time job, on top of running the Delightfully Chic Blog and Online store) I am also committed to going back to school and getting my masters in business!

This is pretty major considering I was the girl who always believed school was nothing more than social hour and only decided to go to college after attending cosmetology school, obtaining license, and then refusing to be a hair stylist which left my parents no choice but, to basically cut me off financially in attempt to teach me a very important life lesson! 

It worked- it took barely a month and this girl was begging to go to college and now, only 6 days shy of my 31st birthday back to school I plan to go!

Today instead of sharing a recipe I thought I would share what has been holding my attention this morning.

The one and only Dr. Oz is sharing his personal advice on how to get fit and eat clean in 2013 over on the 30 Days of Pinspiration today on Pinterest!

EEK!! I don't about you, but, my mama and I are obsessed with the Oz! Sometimes he is a little too graphic in his visuals on his talk show but, I do believe he gives GREAT advice; if only I could do a better job of following his recommendations!

I couldn't be more excited for the start of a new year!

2013 I am claiming as a year of CHANGE!
