Calling All Beach Bums {Summer Must Have}

We are headed back to the beach soon and one thing I’d love to pack 

in my bag is an ultra-chic round beach blanket!

It's so simple it's brilliant!

For the Love of Cooking {Rosemary Butter}

Our garden this year has been doing amazing.   

We’ve had tons of peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes,  

 but what we’ve had a real abundance of comes from our herb garden.    

We have rosemary and basil galore!  Last weekend I served up caprese salads so 

that helped to use some of the basil. I've also frozen small blocks of basil soaked 

in olive oil. The rosemary I have just used here and there.   

So I’m on the hunt for recipes and ways to use some of this goodness. 

I am most excited to make a Rosemary Butter.  

 Scott and I love to grill corn on the cob in the summer and lately we have been 

on a gourmet grilled cheese binge.  I think adding rosemary butter to both of these 

dishes would totally kick things up a notch!

What You'll Need 
1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature (2 sticks)
1 tablespoon rosemary finely chopped 
1 tablespoon thyme, finely chopped
5 cloves garlic, finely minced 

How To 
In a large bowl, combine butter, rosemary, thyme, and garlic
Use a spatula to combine all of the ingredients well.  
Scoop the mixture onto a sheet of wax or parchment paper.  
Roll into a log and twist the ends shut.  
Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours, or until the butter is firm.  

 

Canopy Dreams

 When I was a little girl, I had a canopy bed that I absolutely adored.  

So naturally, if the day comes and we have a daughter I have all intentions of 

beautiful draping’s for her to have sweet dreams under each night.   

My favorite look at the moment are daybeds with canopy draping’s. 

And it doesn't always have to be ribbons and lace!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

I’m back!  Today has been “Just another manic Monday”!  

 I guess that serves me right for taking a long weekend to relax and celebrate our 

country’s birthday!  America wasn’t the only birthday we celebrated this weekend.   

My daddy, or as I like to call him, “the man who hung the moon” 

also shares his birthday with our country and celebrated his 73^rd on Saturday! 

I always tell him, how cool is it that you get fireworks for your special day every year?! 

We kicked things off early Friday morning doing what daddy loves most!

Fishing!

 

Scott was the only one who had any luck!

Me, I stretched out across the back of the boat and snoozed! I have way too much

ADD going on to be that patient when the fish aren't biting.   

Friday night we had Greg and Rebecca (the bestie) and my two lovebugs, 

Carley Grace and Raylee over for a little QT and holiday baking. 

The girls had a total blast!

 

Scott per usual gave the girls a little salt water aquarium 101! 

So sweet!

And then, Happy Birthday DADDY and God Bless America! 

The family was all together to celebrate the special day!

 

Sunday, I was a woman on a mission!

It was time to take on my next DIY!

This beaut is now white! Stay tuned to see the finished

product.  I still have a little work to do.
