I Spy: Memorial Day

What a fun holiday!?
Memorial Day marks the kick off of summer (my favorite season) and most importantly it is a time to remember all those brave souls that have died fighting for our great nation!

I plan to spend Friday-Monday POOLSIDE with amazing friends grilling out and soaking up tons of rays!  Now to start the menu and cocktail planning and of course festive decor is essential!

This I LOVE...a wreath made from tiny toothpick flags!

Let's Go For A Cruise

Every year about this time my need to pack up and move to the beach (preferably Wrightsville Beach...since Fiji is out currently out of the question) goes into overload.
I am determined to make the move one day!
The first thing I will pick up when I get into town...a beach cruiser!  My obsession with this adorable mode of transportation has always been a tad ridiculous!

I will also be adding a basket and wine holder to my oh so super cool cruiser!

Do you have a cruiser?
What color is yours?  How do you accessories your "ride"?

For The Love Of Cooking

To say I am stoked about today's recipe would be an understatement!
Complete pesto and artichoke junkie here when it comes to pizza and pasta.
I'm pretty sure a little smoke came off my mouse when I scrolled past this recipe and came to a screeching halt!

This amazing recipe comes via Heather Freeman of The Lovely CupboardI have been finding myself visiting her perfect blog more and more.

I Spy

This past weekend I stopped into Urban Outfitters (one of my fave stores) and my bank account I swear started to cry with fear of the damage I was about to do!  Thank goodness my wise mama (voice of reason) helped keep me under control!

There are a few items however, I can't seem to get off my mind!

#wishlist

ok...I'm obsessed with this print and style however, I am super funny when it comes to my "undergarments" low cut front and racer back...I don't do braless (i was not that blessed) and my VS convertible I swear can be more trouble than it's worth!  Suggestions??

one of my faves...kept going back to this top but for some reason it didn't end up in my bag :(

and I'm proud to be an American...
I don't know that I would rock this bag too much this summer but, it caught my eye and it could also be a great transition piece into fall

This little beauty I have had my eye on for a couple months now!!
I'm still holding out hoping someone who loves me a whole lot purchases it for me!
It's the most perfect accessory for the summer!

Happy Tuesday Darlings!

God has perfect timing, never early, never late.
It takes a little patience and a lot of faith.
BUT, it's always worth the wait!

Weekend Flashback

It's a wrap on an amazing weekend!!

Friday I spent hours by the pool with close friends...I was completely sun kissed by the end!!

Saturday was the absolute BEST
My two very best girlfriends (Katie and Rebecca) are pregnant, both expecting little girls (2nd baby girl for "Becs" and first child for "Kates").  We decided to have a Mother-Daughter meet up in Raleigh and celebrate the upcoming births and Mother's Day.
Katie lives in Wilmington so Raleigh was the halfway point!
They are due just a little over a week apart!  I totally embrace my role as "Aunt Tiff" as you can see in a few snap shots below of me and Carley Grace aka "CG" (Rebecca's first daughter).

Us girls have been best friends for YEARS (Rebecca and I since kindergarten).  We have all decided to name our girls with the middle name Grace.  (fingers crossed I have a lil' baby girl one day of my own to carry on the tradition).  Carley Grace (belonging to Becs) and Katie will be welcoming Bailey Grace in July.

After our meet up, my mom and I continued the fun with a little shopping in North Hills and then again on Sunday at South Point!

The food this weekend was out of control delicious!  I missed a few snapshots but, I highly recommend Coquette (the most adorable French inspired brasserie) in North Hills!

Sunday it was all about my amazing "Mama"!  She is my rock...my best friend, and I don't know of anyone else who is more selfless and more willing to put others needs first.  If I am half the mom she is one day...I will be doing great!

After a long weekend of babies and mama love the only thing I wanted to do was snuggle up and have a moviethon the entire evening.
So...That's exactly what I did!

How was your weekend?
What exciting things did you do?

Mad Men Inspired

Yesterday as I was hard at work, Spotify was on as usual (I'd die without the constant sound of tunes playing in the background).  I decided to mix up my usual tunes for the "Mad Men" playlist that Spotify offers.  It was a total score much like this MM inspired 1960's townhouse featured in

It's the perfect amount of NYC posh with fab throwback flare.

I can't even begin to explain my obsession with these vibrant leather chairs!

Chandelier anyone??
Statement making beauty!

I am trying my hardest to come up with a way to incorporate this bold back splash into my kitchen!

Stripes...how could you possibly go wrong?

For The Love Of Cooking

I have never claimed to be a cook but, I totally think I get an A for effort and for not burning any kitchens down thus far!

One of the easiest ways to impress while keeping things extra simple is that glorious little invention called the slow cooker!

Here is a recipe I can't wait to try, super easy and looks beyond delish!
