Your Thanksgiving Tablescape

A week from today we will all gather around the Thanksgiving table to give thanks along with our loved ones and eat until we are dizzy!  

If you are hosting this gathering at your home, it’s time to start thinking about one very important piece of the puzzle.

I am off the hook this year thanks to my mother-in-law who is hosting for not only our family, but my sister-in-law's soon to be new family along with the entire Gaither gang.  However, if I were pulling together the table for the main event, here are a few pieces I would incorporate in my tablescape.

 

This fall I have had a major obsession with  petrified wood and green jarrahdale pumpkins

so they would surely land on the my table.  Magnolia leaves for me compliment 

just about every look.  Keep them their vibrant green hue or mist them with a gold

metallic paint to dress up your tablescape even more.

What is Happening to Me?! {Craving Fall}

It's no secret I am a total summer time girl, but my 2nd favorite season is fall!  

I am usually the first to say don't rush the season away when people start 

complaining about the heat and North Carolina humidity. 

Now, I am still very much ok with the sticky NC air, but the strangest 

thing is happening this year.  For over a MONTH now all I can think about 

is the upcoming season.  I cannot WAIT for fall clothes, the leaves to turn on the trees 

(hello trips to the mountains), the taste of pumpkin spiced lattes, and the very best smell in 

the world, the smell of burning leaves.   

Just yesterday as sweet mama and I strolled the aisles of Hobby Lobby 

(I could seriously live in this store) I kept finding myself back gazing at the fall decor.

I cannot wait to make The Gaither house extra warm and cozy with rich tones

of crisp fall decor. 

So today, let's start gathering a little tablescape decor for the 

upcoming season!

Quote of the Week {Weekend Wrap Up}

I’m back!  Today has been “Just another manic Monday”!  

 I guess that serves me right for taking a long weekend to relax and celebrate our 

country’s birthday!  America wasn’t the only birthday we celebrated this weekend.   

My daddy, or as I like to call him, “the man who hung the moon” 

also shares his birthday with our country and celebrated his 73^rd on Saturday! 

I always tell him, how cool is it that you get fireworks for your special day every year?! 

We kicked things off early Friday morning doing what daddy loves most!

Scott was the only one who had any luck!

Me, I stretched out across the back of the boat and snoozed! I have way too much

ADD going on to be that patient when the fish aren't biting.   

Friday night we had Greg and Rebecca (the bestie) and my two lovebugs, 

Carley Grace and Raylee over for a little QT and holiday baking. 

The girls had a total blast!

 

Scott per usual gave the girls a little salt water aquarium 101! 

So sweet!

And then, Happy Birthday DADDY and God Bless America! 

The family was all together to celebrate the special day!

 

Sunday, I was a woman on a mission!

It was time to take on my next DIY!

This beaut is now white! Stay tuned to see the finished

product.  I still have a little work to do.

I Spy: Tablescapes

Browsing glossy pages and the worldwide web for beautiful and unique tablescapes is one of my many guilty pleasures.  Once I start the swooning process I have to seriously stop, look at the clock and give myself a cutoff time of when I will move on to more "productive" tasks.  If there is wine in hand, I tend to "hit the snooze button" and extend my indulge sesh in 5 minute increments!  

I told you...total guilty pleasure. 

Last night as I was re-organizing my Pinterest boards (yes, this is what I do with my spare-time) it dawned on me that I did not have a board dedicated completely to tablescapes?!  Ok, this immediately had to be corrected.  Slowly I am adding some of my faves and new finds but, in the meantime feast your eyes and enjoy while the collection expands.

I Spy: Zara Headed to the States

Eek!  Have you heard the news?

I have been a fan of Zara since the first time I walked into the clothing store in Paris, France.

I Spy: Memorial Day

What a fun holiday!?

 Memorial Day marks the kick off of summer (my favorite season) and most importantly it is a time to remember all those brave souls that have died fighting for our great nation!

I plan to spend Friday-Monday POOLSIDE with amazing friends grilling out and soaking up tons of rays!  Now to start the menu and cocktail planning and of course festive decor is essential!
